Site Work Begins In Preparation For Nordstrom Department Store at The Mall at Green Hills

NASHVILLE, TN– Officials of Davis Street Land Company, LLC and The Mall at Green Hills today announced the start of pre‐construction activities in preparation for the building of the Mid‐South’s first Nordstrom Department Store at The Mall at Green Hills in Nashville, TN.

The pre‐construction work, expected to be completed by August 1, 2010, includes site excavation and utility installations in the Mall’s former south parking lot located off Abbott Martin Road. Construction of the 144,500 square‐foot luxury Nordstrom Department Store will begin August 2010 and will culminate with Nordstrom’s store grand opening in October 2011.

“We are excited to reach this major milestone as The Mall prepares the site location for Nordstrom’s new store at The Mall at Green Hills”, said Hank Woerner, mall manager. “Not only does this mark the first major department store to be built in Nashville in several years, but it also puts The Mall at Green Hills on the national map as a regional luxury shopping destination.” In addition to store pre‐construction work, mall officials have also announced the addition of two new levels to the existing parking deck adjacent to Macy’s. The parking deck expansion begins Monday, January 11, 2010.

During the pre‐construction and building of the Nordstrom Department Store, The Mall’s south entrance off Abbott Martin Road/Bandywood will be closed. Mall shoppers can continue to enter the Mall’s parking deck off of Hillsboro Pike and Abbott Martin Road (across from Walgreen’s). The parking deck expansion will temporarily close deck levels 3, 4 and 5 until Fall 2010. The 2‐level expansion will be complete by the 2010 holiday season.

Mall officials expect its new complimentary valet parking program will be popular with shoppers during this timeframe. “Customer response to our new valet parking program has been tremendous and we look forward to offering this luxury amenity to customers in the months ahead,” said Woerner.

The complimentary valet parking service, operated by Parking Management Corporation (PMC), experienced heavy usage at its North Station near The Cheesecake Factory during the holiday season. A second mall valet parking station at Macy’s Hillsboro Pike entrance is now open.
